The shop keeper handled a simple misunderstanding with rudeness. I put my items back, decided not to spend my money there and bought them online at a cheaper price instead.I love Wells and independent shops, but there is NEVER an excuse for such rudeness. I have had a horrible experience in this shop today. I have been a regular customer and have bought a number of presents there over the years, but will never do so again. The shop manager is extremely rude. I went into the shop to buy a present for my son's friend and for my sons birthday, so was about to spend a fair amount of money. I took in a paper bag with a roll in it and was not intending to eat any (as I do not eat in shops) however taking some time to decide what to buy, I had a small, discreet single bite. The shop manager was then unnecessarily rude to me. He said I had ignored the sign on the door and I would have to leave the shop. I explained that I had not seen (the small) sign on the bottom of the door, that I was quite happy not to eat and there was no need to be so rude. He then told me to leave. Consequently I did and will not be going back! Another customer in the shop told the shop manager he had handled the situation badly and also left with me. I can't imagine how a shop keeper in his right mind would behave in this way to a well intentioned customer. We all know independent shop owners in Wells have a struggle on their hands with high rates and Britelly has just moved into bigger premises. Clearly he doe not understand the golden rule... if you wish to stay in business treat your customers with respect.
A well hidden gem, great place for video lovers and people who like are looking for a nice game/video related gift. very friendly staff
