I wouldn't deal with this idiot here. He put loads of pressure on us to sell our silver, saying things like: "well i could have just lied about the price, then you would have been happy to just sell it here". Ie., he could have said our silver was just plated and wasnt worth much, so we would have said yeah, fine take it off our hands and sell it. Also, when we, after a minute of him writing the lots down, said we wanted to think about it, he started saying it's more convenient for him to carry on and sell them since he's changed his plans. We saw him again a couple of weeks later, he's got an awful attitude. A real sod. I wont be ever selling (or buying) there, nor shall i be recommending them to anyone, but rather telling them what fools they are there. I'm not sure, but the other review looks like it could have been written by them, which wouldn't surprise me, he's a swindler either way.
A family run auction house which I have found to be knowledgeable and helpful with their valuations and advice. Although the premises are unglamorous and the catalogue basic and unillustrated, this matters little as they seem to have the majority of interesting lots in the area and their sales are predominantly on-line, and they achieve good prices. They do not waste time by taking in junk (other than in job lots) or toying with increments of less than 5. Commission at 15% has not increased in several years.
